A UAE tourist visa is sponsored by an accredited tourism establishment and issued by one of two authorities — GDRFA Dubai, or federal ICP. Which one applies changes the documents, the processing and the extension route, so the first thing this desk confirms is which of the two a file belongs to.

Dubai-sponsored applications go through GDRFA Dubai. Applications elsewhere in the country go through ICP. The requirement is confirmed against the issuing authority per file rather than assumed from the last one.

The overstay position matters commercially: ICP publishes a per-day fine, and an unpaid liability can prevent departure. Build the extension conversation in before the stay ends, not after.
