South-west coast
Tanah Lot
A sea temple on a tidal rock, cut off from the shore at high water and walkable at low. Late afternoon is when it earns its reputation, and when everyone else has the same idea.

Indonesia
Temples, terraces & tides
Sea temples, the rice terraces of the interior and the cliffs of the Nusa islands — planned from Dubai, run on the ground by operators who live there.
The place
Bali is one island in an archipelago of thousands, and the only Hindu-majority province in Indonesia — which is why the temples are everywhere and why the calendar is full of ceremony you will meet whether or not you plan around it.
It is also small. The south is beaches, surf and the bulk of the hotels; an hour inland is Ubud, where the terraces are cut into river valleys and irrigated by subak, the shared water system Balinese farmers have run for centuries. Offshore, a fast boat from Sanur reaches the Nusa islands and their cliffs.
That compactness is the planning point: a week can hold the coast, the interior and an island without anybody living out of a suitcase, provided the driving is sequenced properly. Traffic in the south is the thing that ruins otherwise sensible itineraries.
Good to know
Entry requirements vary by passport and change without notice, so they are not published here — we confirm what applies to your travellers at the time of booking.
Where we take people
A starting point, not a fixed route — every itinerary is written around the party, the dates and how much moving about they want.

South-west coast
A sea temple on a tidal rock, cut off from the shore at high water and walkable at low. Late afternoon is when it earns its reputation, and when everyone else has the same idea.

Bukit peninsula
A clifftop temple at the southern tip of the island, set about seventy metres above the Indian Ocean. The kecak performance in the adjoining amphitheatre is timed to end at sunset.

Offshore, via Sanur
The largest of the three Nusa islands and the one with the cliffs — Kelingking's headland is the shot everybody arrives for. Roads inland are rough; a day trip needs the boat times built in, not assumed.

Central highlands
Ubud is the cultural centre — palaces, markets, and the valley walks. North of it the Tegallalang terraces step down a steep valley, watered by the same subak system UNESCO inscribed in 2012.

Offshore
Below the cliffs the water turns a colour that does not photograph honestly. Most of these coves are reached by boat or by a steep descent, and both need the tide and the swell checked on the day.

Seminyak · Canggu · Jimbaran
Where most of the island's hotels sit, strung along the west-facing coast. Each stretch has a different temperament, and choosing the wrong one is the single most common way a Bali trip disappoints.
When to go
Bali is 8 degrees south of the equator, so temperature barely moves all year — what changes is rain and sea state, not heat.
Apr – Oct
Best
Dry season
The reliable window — long sunny spells, calmer seas for diving and the island crossings.
May, Jun, Sep
Best
The sweet spot
Dry-season weather without the July–August peak. If the dates are movable, these are the months to move them to.
Jul – Aug
Peak
Driest of all and busiest by some distance. Book early or accept second choices on hotels.
Nov – Mar
Wet season
Rain concentrated in short afternoon downpours rather than all-day weather; December to February are the wettest. Mornings are often clear enough to plan around.
How we run it
Our own vehicles and guides are in the Emirates. Indonesia is run through operators we work with there — which is why the plan comes from us and the driver meeting your travellers is local.
01
The itinerary is built by the same team you would deal with for a UAE programme, and delivered by operators we work with on the island. One brief, one plan, one set of people answering for it.
02
Bali's south congests badly and the interior roads are slow. Sequencing — what you see on which day, and from which base — is most of what separates a good week here from a tiring one.
03
There is no fixed Bali product to buy. Tell us the length of stay, the party, and whether this is a first visit or a return, and the plan is written around that.
Next step
Dates, party size and whether this is a first visit or a return — that is enough for us to come back with a routed itinerary rather than a brochure.
