Events calendar

Dates an organiser has actually published.

22 festivals, sporting fixtures and trade shows across the Emirates — 16 with dates on the record and 6 that nobody has announced yet. This page tells you which is which.

Why this calendar reads differently

A date is a promise. We only make the ones we can keep.

Checked on 29 July 2026

Dubai's year is not a smooth line. It is a handful of weeks when every room in the city is spoken for, a long summer when the same rooms are wide open, and a set of trade shows in between that quietly decide what a hotel will sell you and at what notice. A destination management company lives or dies on knowing which week is which.

Every date below comes from the organiser, the venue or a UAE government media office. Where the next edition has not been announced, this page says “dates to be announced” and stops there. That is not caution for its own sake: while this calendar was being verified, listing sites were carrying three mutually contradictory date ranges for a single Dubai festival, none of them traceable to the organiser. An agent who contracts against an invented date pays for it twice — once in the rate and once in the apology. We would rather publish an honest blank.

The calendar runs on two tracks, and they are separated below because they are bought by different people. The leisure track — the Shopping Festival, Summer Surprises, the Diwali programme, Eid Al Etihad, New Year's Eve, the Marathon, the Dubai World Cup, the Grand Prix at Yas Marina — moves guest demand and decides what an itinerary should look like in a given month. The trade track — Arabian Travel Market, GITEX GLOBAL, Gulfood, Big 5 Global, WETEX, the Dubai International Boat Show and the biennial Dubai Airshow — moves rooms. Those 7 shows are what an agent actually plans around, so they get the operational detail rather than the pretty photograph.

The 2026–2027 window is an unusually unstable one, which is precisely why last year's notes are dangerous. Arabian Travel Market has left its long-standing spring slot and now runs in September. GITEX GLOBAL has moved out of October into December and out of the World Trade Centre to Expo City, stacking the largest MICE block of the year straight on top of the leisure peak. The Dubai International Boat Show has been repositioned into late November, in the same week as Big 5 Global. Three changes, three months reshaped.

What you will not find here is a price. Net rates are contracted per agency and move with season, volume and length of stay, so a published number would be wrong for everyone reading it. What you get instead is the demand calendar further down — month by month, peak through low, with what each season means for rates and availability. Send us your dates and pax and a coordinator in Bur Dubai will tell you which weeks to move, and why.

Editions not yet announced

These editions are expected, but no organiser has published a date for them. We will not print one until they do — ask us and we will confirm the moment it lands.

Dates to be announced

Culture

Art Dubai

The Middle East's leading international art fair, bringing galleries, artists and institutions to Madinat Jumeirah alongside a public and commissioned programme.

Past pattern, not a date

Historically April at Madinat Jumeirah, but the 2026 disruption makes the 2027 slot genuinely uncertain.

Not announced on any primary source as at 29 July 2026, and the organiser's own site could not be reached to check. The ranges circulating on listing sites could not be traced back to Art Dubai Group. A 2027 edition is nonetheless expected: reporting on the rescheduled 2026 edition says exhibitor stand fees will be credited toward the 2027 fair.

Sport

Dubai Tennis Championships

A two-week ATP and WTA tour event: a women's week followed immediately by a men's week, played at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

Past pattern, not a date

Historically a two-week block in the second half of February.

Not announced as at 28 July 2026.

Festival

DFF

Dubai's citywide culinary festival brand, historically anchored by Dubai Restaurant Week.

No forward dates are published for the Dubai Food Festival brand. DFRE's official 2026 Retail Calendar, re-checked 29 July 2026, lists the year's citywide retail campaigns and does not include it.

Festival

DSF

Dubai's flagship retail and entertainment festival, described by the UAE Government Media Office as 'the world's longest-running annual retail celebration of its kind'.

Past pattern, not a date

Early December 2026 to mid-January 2027.

Not announced as at 28 July 2026. DFRE has historically published the following year's retail calendar in late November — the 2026 calendar appeared on 25 November 2025. The date ranges circulating on listing sites are not official.

Culture

Emirates LitFest

The region's largest literary festival: a week of author talks, workshops, family activities, dinner events and performances.

Past pattern, not a date

Not established. The 2026 edition ran 21–27 January, but the historical January pattern is not a reliable guide to 2027.

Not announced as at 29 July 2026 — the official site was still advertising the January 2026 edition when checked. An April 2027 slot circulates third-hand but could not be traced to the Emirates Literature Foundation, so no dates are given here. A month change is genuinely possible.

Demand calendar

When rates and availability actually move.

17 months, from August 2026 to December 2027. Seasons and crowd levels here are our commercial guidance, derived from sourced climate and visitation data — not published statistics, and never a quoted rate.

Peak

Highest rates of the year and genuinely scarce rooms. Contract early, expect minimum-stay conditions, and expect release deadlines to be enforced.

Shoulder

Rates climbing week by week and the weather usable again. The best value window for a group that can move its dates.

Low to shoulder

Rates begin to firm as the season restarts. Availability is still comfortable, but a single trade block can take a week out of it.

Low

Softest rates and open availability. Indoor-weighted product only; several outdoor attractions are shut for the season.
