Traffic pinch points

  • Sheikh Zayed Road Interchange 5 — the Marina's only high-capacity entry, and it backs up at both peaks
  • Al Marsa Street and the Marina Walk loop are one-way and narrow; taxi pickup points get congested in the evening
  • Dubai Marina Mall car park exit on weekend evenings

Coach access

Poor at the waterfront. Use the mall or hotel podium bays; coaches cannot circulate on Marina Walk.

On the ground

Marina is the DXB-far / DWC-near side of the city — the transfer maths inverts here versus Downtown. If a group flies into DWC, Marina and JBR are the natural first-night base.

The Lower Pool is reported closed from 8 July 2026 until further notice for essential maintenance. This is taken from Marriott's own listing rather than confirmed with the hotel directly, so check it before building an itinerary around the pool. The resort is operating normally otherwise.

Two of the three wings are out of order. The Palace is closed for a planned renovation from 24 April 2026 until further notice, with guests redirected to Arabian Court. The Residence & Spa is closed, with summer maintenance reported from 15 April to 15 October 2026 affecting the pool and The Dining Room. Arabian Court appears to be the only wing currently bookable — do not sell The Palace or The Residence & Spa without written confirmation from the resort.
